The December meeting of QBTB was held on Dec. 16 at the Environmental Center. About 30 members were present. The treasurer reported a balance of $8672.66 part of which is earmarked for retreats. Judie Sholes announced the sign up for the Post Card class scheduled for Feb 25--the day after our Feb meeting. The cost is $20 and the class is limited to 15. As that is the time Sewing Expo starts, a possible date change is being considered. Jackie Anderson and Kim Killen had the pleasure of delivering 18 (wow!) quilts to Mary Bridge for children being taken into foster care. The quilts were much appreciated and the women were told that this week alone 10 children were brought in and need the quilts. The walker bags were also appreciated. The guild has bought batting and fabric for quilt backs. If you would like some of these supplies for charity quilts, please contact Kim Killen who will cut what you need and bring it to the meeting. This is a great cause, so lets keep the quilts coming.... There are also labels available to put on the donated quilts. Mardell brought some of our pillow cases for members to buy for last minute gifts. $8 each. The board has agreed to buy an electronic notebook for the treasurer. It will be good to have our records properly backed up and it will facilitate a smooth transition when we get a new treasurer. The board is also going to purchase: an ironing board, cover, iron, 3 surge protectors, 6 extension cords. These will be useful at retreats and work parties. We will start selling raffle tickets in January for a drawing next December. The 2010 quilt will be ready by February There is no Block-of-the-Month for December. The kimono block is due in January. The first border for the Round-Robin challenge is due in January. Next month: A program by Yo Wright who will talk about binding. The members then played a few rounds of Bingo called by Joyce Walker and finished up with delicious pie and ice cream. -- Respectfully submitted, Marcia Cramer, Secretary
