September 2011 Meeting Minutes

QBTB meeting was on Sept 26 at the Environmental Center.  About 25 members were present.  Dodi Paulson, a pattern designer with "Two Sisters at Squirrel Hollow" gave an interesting trunk show and lecture on color.  She also talked about her patterns and books.

During the business meeting the treasurer reported that we have about $10,000 in checking with $1,200 set aside as retreat money and another $1,200 earmarked for rent which is due soon.  Vicki Gleason, treasurer, would appreciate bills be submitted in advance of the meeting if possible.

Fall Retreat is all set and ready to go  October 13-16.   Spring
Retreat has 1 spot open.  It will be April 13-15.

Hospice House hangs our quilts for 2 months now.  Sign up with Joyce Walker.

Mary Voigt, membership chair, will be sending out the updated roster this month.  From now on only dues paying members will be getting the minutes and notices.  Send your dues ($35) to Vicki Gleason, 12522 103rd St Ct KPN, Gig Harbor, WA 98329.

Notice there are a couple of empty slots.  Let Heather Stailey know if you can help.

We had our usual selection of very nice Show and Tell pieces:
Joyce Walker showed a purple strip pieced one.  Joyce Momii had a tree skirt for the boutiques.  Marcia Cramer had 2 table runners and 2 pot holders for the boutiques.  Jackie Anderson had 2 table runners as well.  Pat Ditter had a woodsy quilt for charity plus a nice log cabin and a kitty one--both long time UFOs.  Dorothy Loveless had a colorful "happy quilt", plus she finished putting together some antique stars into a lovely quilt.  Dorothy and Norma Jean both won blue ribbons at the Fair.  We'd like to see these again.  And Mary Johnson had 2 more of her amazing scrap quilts put together with very small pieces.

Respectfully submitted,
Marcia Cramer, secretary
